What would mum say? Well there’s only one way to find out - get along to the King’s Theatre to check out Jane McCarry in her new production.
The Still Game actress will be there supported by such giants as Libby McArthur (River City), Suzie McGuire (former Radio Clyde presenter), Lorraine McIntosh (Deacon Blue) and Julie Wilson Nimmo (Balamory).
The Scottish tour gets underway at the King’s from January 26 until January 30.
Mum’s the Word 2 is an entirely new look at the original show looking at the comedic horrors or rearing young children, but updated to now regard the problems of rearing those same kids as teenagers.
Team up with the mothers, now ‘older and wider’, on their journey into the parenting nightmare that is looking after teens.
The hilarious follow-up retains many of of the funniest moments from the original production as it moves one-step-beyond into, not just the lives of teenagers, but how the mums feel about growing older, their families and their relationships.
Jane McCarry takes the lead role, originally intended for Gail Porter. Jane is known as Isa in the BBC smash hit comedy Still Game.
Jane’s career spans the genres: her most recent works includes starring roles in Arthur Miller’s The Last Yankee and Jack and the Beanstalk at the Gaiety Theatre in Ayr.
A comedy hoot is promised for all the family... but especially the mums.
