Local pet charity Cats Protection, has received a welcome £300 boost, thanks to Newton Mearns veterinary practice Vets4Pets.
The donation comes in the form of a £300 Lifelines voucher to spend on supplies and veterinary treatment at the Vets4Pets surgery.
Lifelines are a part of Pets At Home VIP club programme, which includes the Vets4Pets national network of veterinary practices.
Lifelines work just like other reward points, except that instead of the customer spending their accumulated rewards on themselves, Lifelines are donated to an animal charity or re-homing centre.
Since the Lifelines launch in 2012, VIP members have donated over £4 million worth of supplies and services to charities and re-homing centres over the UK.
Lorraine Currie, Co-Ordinator Cats Protection Glasgow Branch said: “We are delighted to have received this donation for the branch.
“ We already work closely with the practice and the donation will go directly to helping cats in our care getting the veterinary care that many desperately need.
“We have rescued 200 cats so far this year, nearly double than this time last year and as the branch is self-funded, donations like this make such a difference!”
Michelle Barclay, Veterinary Surgeon and owner of the practice said: “We are so pleased to be able to give this to Cats Protection who we have worked with closely over the years.
“We are delighted to support the hard work and dedication of the Glasgow Branch with our donation. As a local business we firmly believe we should be supporting local charities wherever possible as part of our enagagement within the community where we work.
“This initial £300 award is just the start and Vets4Pets will continue to support local charities with Lifelines in the future.”
Vets4Pets Newton Mearns has been open for three years and is situated in Greenlaw Village with free on site parking available.
The practice has a large range of services and facilities including an operating theatre, dentistry, x ray machine, in-house laboratory, health care plans, hospital wards and nurse clinics.
Michelle and her dedicated team of staff are always happy to help and ensure that your beloved pets are their top priority.
