East Renfrewshire head teacher Patricia Scott has received an MBE for services to education.
The St Luke’s High School head travelled to Buckingham Palace to receive the honour, describing it as a “wonderful, super day.”
Mrs Scott said: “The atmosphere at Buckingham Palace, going through the front gates and on to the red carpet, was really special and beautiful.”
The Queen even admired Patricia’s outfit — a Scott tartan wrap pinned with a poppy brooch — and the teacher added that she was “lovely — serene and smiley and absolutely professional.
“The Queen said to me, you’re a head teacher aren’t you? You are one of those schools that just go up and and up and up.
“It has been my privilege to work in St Luke’s and be part of the commuity for the past 30 years — I’m delighted to be able to share this with everyone.”
