A council-funded team which provides money advice to East Ren residents has produced a staggering £1, 646, 794 in saving - in just THREE MONTHS!
The Money Advice and Rights Team (MART), which was established in January this year, has supported 1626 residents with advice on debt, welfare rights and benefits saving them more than £1.5million.
The team meets with the Forum Advice Information & Resources East Renfrewshire (FAIRER) group every two months.
Councillor Ian McAlpine, Convener of Corporate and Community Services, chairs the meetings. He explains: “The group is an information sharing forum, where the voluntary and third sector groups can meet with council services and share ideas to benefit the people of East Renfrewshire.
“When the group comes together, it is fantastic to hear about the massive impact and developments made by the services.
“We want to get the message out to anyone in East Ren that they are not alone with any personal or financial concerns and should get in contact with us.”
