Man dies following serious assault in Pollok

Police were called at around 10.30pm on Friday, July 13 and the victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

An attempted murder investigation was launched following the alleged incident.

A Police spokesman said: “Police can confirm that a 49 year-old man who had received serious injuries following a disturbance on Levernside Road, Glasgow around 10.30 pm on Friday 13 July 2018 died within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital yesterday (Sunday).

“On Sunday July 15 2018 a 40 year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“He was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday 17 July 2018.”
