Rouken Glen Park hosted East Renfrewshire’s 2016 Armed Forces Day on Saturday 18th June. Kirsten Oswald MP joined with military personnel and veterans to celebrate the contribution of the armed forces.
Kirsten attended the flag-raising ceremony alongside colleague Tom Arthur MSP, before spending the day talking with the many charity, voluntary and community groups who were represented.
Kirsten commented: “It was great to attend the Armed Forces Day celebrations in Rouken Glen Park. The event was extremely busy, with many people enjoying the wide range of events and entertainment in the sunshine.
“It was useful to catch up with the many charities and community groups and to spend time chatting to our local veterans and military personnel.
“We have a very strong armed forces community in East Renfrewshire and I am always pleased to represent them and hear of any issues that they may have.”
