LINN councillor Sadie Docherty has been tipped as the frontrunner for the role of lord provost of Glasgow.
The Labour councillor, who retained her seat in last week’s election after first taking it in 2007, has been named as a contender as nominations for the post close today.
If elected, Mrs Docherty would be the fourth woman to act as Glasgow’s lord provost.
Former provost Liz Cameron (2003-2007) has also been named as a contender, as well as Newlands/Auldburn councillor Stephen Curran and Paul Rooney, councillor for Garscadden/Scotstounhill.
Glasgow Labour members will make a decision on the provost post today (Thursday).
