People have been gathering across East Renfrewshire for the annual Remembrance Sunday commemoration of the millions lost in world wars and subsequent conflicts.
Today’s events began in Newton Mearns, where the local branch of Royal British Legion Scotland organised a ceremony at the war memorial at Mearns Cross.
Provost Alastair Carmichael and Vice Lord-Lieutenant Colonel Peter McCarthy, along with Kirsten Oswald MP and Jackson Carslaw MSP, laid wreaths at the Cenotaph.
Later another service was held at the Glasgow Reform Synagogue on Ayr Road.
Elsewhere in East Renfrewshire a moving ceremony was staged at the war memorial adjacent to St Thomas Church on Main Street.
In Barrhead, a parade will leave the United Services Club a remembrance service at the war memorial in Cowan Park.
