Southsiders with an interest in archeology are being asked to take the short step across the border - to Stonehouse - for a new project.
Help exhume secrets of souls laid to rest at St Ninian’s Kirkyard, Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire by volunteering to take part in an archaeological project this Saturday and Sunday.
The local historical groups want help shedding light on the lives and work of 17th and 18th century bakers, millers, masons, weavers, blacksmiths, farmers and their families, by recording the tools of the trades depicted on the headstones.
The event is free and runs from 10.30am – 3.30pm. Booking is essential and all are welcome.
