Pollok Country Park is the picturesque setting for BHF Scotland’s Glasgow Winter Warmer on St Valentine’s Day.
Around 700 people of all ages and abilities have registered to walk, jog or run 5k or 10k around the park to raise funds for world-leading heart research, much of which is taking place in Glasgow.
BHF Scotland’s local Fundraising Manager, Nina Coy, says: “The park will be a sea of walkers and runners in red t-shirts, many of whom will be tackling 5k or 10k for the first time.
“Thanks to their determination, we’ll be raising vital funds to power our life saving research. We’re currently funding over £19 million worth of research, into cardiovascular disease, here in Glasgow and we can only make that happen thanks to the people who raise money for us. Every single walker and runner who gets sponsored is helping to save lives.”
Online registration is now closed but participants can still join up on the day.
Participants will be meeting in front of the Burrell Collection from 10am and the event gets underway at 11am.
