A £10 million health and fitness club is set to open in 2016 next to Rouken Glen Park.
David Lloyd Leisure say 75 jobs will be created when the new gym — the group’s third premises in Glasgow — opens its doors in August.
The centre will include five tennis courts (three indoor and two outdoor), three indoor exercise studios, an 18 hole golf course and driving range, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an indoor spa and spa garden and a children’s zone.
Willie Dunne, who previously headed up the team at David Lloyd Renfrew, takes the role of Rouken Glen’s general manager.
He said: “We have been lucky enough to have secured a stunning location on the edge of Rouken Glen Park and it will provide the area with a fantastic club offering unrivalled facilities and expertise for members to achieve their health and fitness goals.
“We are also very proud to be supporting the area’s economy by creating more than 75 full and part time jobs, and we’re already recruiting for sales consultants and department heads.
“I very much look forward to continuing to develop our community relationships over the coming months.”
A spokeswoman for East Renfrewshire Council confirmed that the facility will not encroach on park land, and will instead replace the clubhouse and driving range at Deaconsbank Golf Course.
