His selection was announced tonight, Saturday.

Gordon, a civil engineer living in Hyndford Road, Lanark, is married to Karen and they have two daughters, Erin and Emma.

He has a long Lanimer pedigree: his father Leonard Gray was Lord Cornet in 1987, his uncle Ian Gray Cornet in 1993, and his mother Anne Gray was a Crowning Lady. Anne’s father Robert Barr, Gordon’s grandfather, was also a Cornet; while his paternal grandmother, Leonard’s mother Dorothy Gray, was a Sashing Lady.

Gordon, currently Lanimer brochure convener, also puts out the St Mary’s Primary School Lanimer entries.

Congratulations, Gordon, from all at the Gazette.

See Wednesday’s paper for more details.
