Scotland’s First Minister was visiting the southside this week when she officially opened the SNP’s campaign rooms on Fenwick Road.
The First Minister met with voters in Eastwood and spoke with a number of local businesses as she joined Stewart Maxwell on the campaign trail as he attempts to be the SNP’s first ever MSP for the Eastwood constituency.
Speaking during the visit, Nicola Sturgeon said: “Throughout all of the years I’ve known Stewart I’ve known him to be the most energetic, dedicated and committed campaigner for the people he represents in the Scottish Parliament. He’ll be an outstanding MSP for the Eastwood constituency.”
Stewart Maxwell, SNP candidate for Eastwood, said: “I’m delighted that the First Minister took the time to join our campaign in Eastwood; speaking with local people, visiting local businesses and officially opening our campaign rooms.
“We’ve got a fantastic campaign here in Eastwood to make sure that Eastwood has an SNP MSP after May 5 because we need a strong local voice in the Scottish Parliament.”
