Duncan Cameron, First Glasgow operations director, said: “The First Glasgow team have met this morning and following a thorough assessment of the weather and road conditions around the network, there will be no services running this morning until at least 10am. The safety of our staff and customers is of the utmost importance and as such this was the only decision that could be taken at this point.

“I would like to thank customers for their patience at this juncture and also to pay tribute to our hard-working staff who went over and above the call of duty yesterday for our customers.

“The continued snowfall means we will have to take an hourly assessment of the situation. We will provide further updates as the day progresses and as services hopefully start to get back to normal.”
