Firefighters tackle early morning blaze at Pollokshaws flats

Firefighters have tackled a blaze at flast in Pollokshaws Road.

Crews were called out to a property at around 7.50am this morning (Friday).

Three fire engines were at the scene as thick smoke came from a top floor flat of the building.

Police Scotland are aware of the ongoing incident, which started at 7.50am, and traffic is heavy in the area.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation,

A SFRS spokesman said: “We received a number of calls about reports of a fire in a top floor flat on Pollokshaws Road in the south side of Glasgow.

“Firefighters currently remain on the scene, working to make the area safe.”
