EAST Renfrewshire has two of the country’s top performing schools and have provided personal best exam performances at S4 level, an ERC committee was told.
Councillor Elaine Green told the council’s education committee that four out of five pupils at Williamwood achieved this level with St Ninian’s slightly higher on 82 per cent.
But over all East Ren schools performed better this year with 67% achieving five or more qualifications at Intermediate 2 level or better.
That is up from 61% last year.
Councillor Green said: “East Renfrewshire students attained another set of first class results, ably supported by teachers and their parents, and I would like to thank them all on behalf of the education committee.
“At the education committee we receive a detailed analysis of the results later in the year and I know members look forward to that.
“But I am delighted to report a few particular highlights at this stage.
“These results are evidence of the outstanding quality of our schools and the importance placed on education by the whole community of East Renfrewshire”.
