The leader of East Renfrewshire Council, Jim Fletcher, is hioping that residents will support Paisley in its bid to become UK City of Culture for 2021.
Paisley’s bid will be formally launched on Saturday, November 14 at the town’s Christmas lights switch-on.
Councillor Fletcher is asking everyone to show their support for Paisley’s bid by following the campaign on Twitter at @Paisley2021, hashtag #Paisley 2021.
Councillor Fletcher said: “We wish Paisley good luck in its bid to become UK City of Culture in 2021.
“East Renfrewshire and other local authorities involved in the Glasgow and Clyde Valley City Deal have already agreed to give Paisley’s bid their support.
“I’m sure folk will get behind this.”
