A redevelopment plan for the Mansionhouses part of the old Victoria Infirmary have been out on hold pending a site visit by planning officials.
CALA Homes are seeking to build 101 luxury flats on the site, however a council committee meeting last week failed to give approval to the plans.
A spokeswoman for CALA Homes (West) said: “CALA is disappointed that the decision regarding the application has been deferred due to a site visit but we will continue to work closely with all key stakeholders involved to deliver a positive planning outcome.
“We are hopeful that we will receive planning committee approval for the site in the coming weeks.”
A total of 23 objections were lodged against the plans in relation to both the number of flats and the heights of the planned buildings.
Evelyn Silber, of Langside, Battlefield and Camphill Community Council, said: “I am pleased on behalf of all the local people who have raised legitimate criticisms on this plan that councillors are coming to see the site themselves.”
