School pupils Calum Murphy and Laura Young have a date with royalty ahead, as each is to receive their gold Duke of Edinburgh award from Prince Edward.
Calum, from Williamwood High, and Laura, from Mearns Castle, will attent the Palace of Holyrood House to receive their honours.
The duo are part of a bigger East Ren group working towards their DoE awards, and the others will receive theirs from the Duke of Wessex at a later date.
Councillor Mary Montague, convener for community services and safety, said: “Warm congratulations to all our young people on a wonderful achievement. Gaining a Duke of Edinburgh gold award is no mean feat, so well done to them all.
“I will be delighted to join them at the royal palace and help celebrate their success. Our young people are a credit to East Ren, not to mention their families, schools and themselves.”
