MICROSCOPES and calculators at the ready, as today marks the international World Science Day.
Pupils across the southside and East Renfrewshire will be marking the occasion with a series of events both today and throughout next week.
Busby primary will spend the day taking part in online science challenges alongside schools from all over the world, taking on children as far away as Croatia, Nepal, Belgium and Australia.
The school will also host a science week running Monday to Friday, ending in a fair where parents can see first-hand what the pupils have learned.
Battlefield primary will also be celebrating the event, with a series of activities planned throughout science week — including a visit from Hoots Owls to learn about handling birds.
Meanwhile, all children aged four to 18 can take part in today’s event online, by visiting www.worldscienceday.com and working their way through the challenges.
