SCHOOL pupils from across East Renfrewshire were honoured at an awards ceremony in Giffnock on Tuesday evening.
The convener’s awards for outstanding achievement recognised the dedication and skills shown by more than 40 youngsters throughout the school year, in areas such as community service, sport and creativity.
The accolades were presented by Dr Heather Reid OBE, ERC education convener councillor Elaine Green and provost Alastair Carmichael.
Advocacy – Kainat Hanif and the Mearns Castle high dyslexia group.
Advocacy and community service – Liam Jeffrey and Nikki Todd.
Community service – Furmaan Ahmed, Jaunita Cabrera, Cheyenne Hodgson, Lorraine Kyle, Michelle Latter, Nathanael Marr, Ross Porter, Hannah Provan and Emma Turner.
Creativity – Rachel Beattie, Hannah Dewhurst, Vivienne Lynch, Heather Rhodes, Emma Robertson, Richard Scholfield, Stuart Vettraino, Matthew Wilson and a St Ninian’s high group.
Independent living skills – Calum Philp.
Extra-curricular activity – Christopher McNulty and the St Ninian’s high film club.
