Parents looking for a nursery place in an East Renfrewshire Council nursery are being urged to register their child.

All children who are three and four years old are entitled to a free nursery place in a council-run nursery.

And the council’s education service is urging parents whose child will turn three or four between March 1, 2016 and February 28, 2017 to apply if you haven’t done so already.

If your child is due to start nursery in the 2016/17 session, you will be contacted about your place by the end of April if your application is received before the closing date.

This year the closing date for applications for council nurseries is February 29.

Convener for education and equalities, Councillor Elaine Green, said: “Every three and four-year-old in East Renfrewshire is entitled to a place at one of our council run nurseries.

“I’d encourage all parents to contact our education service and apply if you haven’t done so already.”

Parents can contact East Renfrewshire Council’s education service on 0141 577 3288 or email pre.five@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk for more information on how to apply and an application form.

Information and application forms are also available online at www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk

If you want to apply for a place for your son or daughter in a partner nursery, parents should apply by contacting the nursery direct no later than August 31.
