Busby pupils have it booked

BUSBY primary pupils indulged their inner bookworms this week for a special trip to Edinburgh.

The East Ren youngsters were in the capital for a visit to the International Book Festival, and there primaries one to seven got the chance to meet and hear readings from some famous authors.

Primary classses 2-4 attended a talk by Linda Strachan and Sally Collins, author and illustrator of the latest book in the Hamish McHaggis series — called Hamish McHaggis and the Great Glasgow Treasure Hunt and some pupils got their hands on a signed copy of the new story.

Other pupils enjoyed a chance to sing with Julia Donaldson — author of the Gruffalo and children’s laureate — and Malcolm Donaldson on guitar.
