LITTLE GRUFFALOS, sorry, pupils from Crookfur primary became budding reporters for the day when the opportunity arose to interview children’s author Julia Donaldson.
Hana Afzal, Alyson Bell, Steven Collingham and Matthew Liddle (all P5) visited the children’s laureate at her home in Bearsden to pose a few choice questions as part of the Scottish Friendly Children’s Book Tour.
The Newton Mearns youngsters were filmed in Julia’s living room, where they learned more about her career before exploring her prop room and dressing up as their favourite characters.
Julia commented: “My best piece of advice would be for children to read absolutely everything they can get their hands on”.
Calum Bennie, marketing manager for Scottish Friendly, added: “Julia Donaldson is one of those authors that kids dream about meeting.
“I’m delighted we could make that dream come true for these children and, hopefully, we will have inspired some of the writers of tomorrow”.
