Eastwood Refugee Aid make another run with help as winter fast approaches.

The Eastwood Refugees Aid team embarked on a trip to help those in need in France and Belgium.

Ron McKechnie , Colm Merrick , Colin Skinner and Chris Mc Cusker took with them 50 brand new mobile phones for families to use to contact home , 50 power banks and 110 pairs of joggers.

Whilst there they bought and distributed dozens of pairs of warm winter boots and socks and fresh food for the community kitchen in Belgium which cooks and delivers food to refugees in both Belgium and France.

They also purchased hand blenders and knives for the kitchens.

This is the sixth trip the team has made thanks to the generosity of East Ren residents. The volunteers paid their own petrol, ferry, hotel and food from their own pockets – all monies donated are used for practical aid.

Although the situation has changed with the large camps being closed there are many hundreds of men, women and children living in small camps in the woods or sleeping in the streets with no support whatsoever offered to them except that supplied by small groups from all over the UK.

Eastwood Refugee aid thanks all its supporters for their generosity.
