The competition drew to a close earlier this week and we can now reveal the winner is The Killoch Bar , Neilston.

The pub which was nominated by residents more than any other, will now go on to compete and represent East Renfrewshire at the coveted “UK Parliamentary Pub of the Year” competition.

Karen Kerrigan, Killoch Bar said: “Myself and all the staff are delighted at winning this award after only owning the establishment for just over a year and would like to thank everyone for the support we have had.

“We have great plans for the future and hope the support will continue.”

Paul Masterton, East Renfrewshire MP added: “Congratulations to the Killoch Bar on becoming the inaugural East Renfrewshire Pub of the Year. The competition was extremely close but, in the end, there could only be one winner.

“The Killoch Bar will now compete on the national stage and hopefully bring back the prize back to East Renfrewshire. Best of luck!”
