Tradespeople from the southside area are being invited to meet with national contractor, Heron Bros, to find out about two high profile school projects totalling £25 million.
Hosted by Constructionline at Fairweather Hall, Glasgow on June 14, the event will provide attendees with the information needed to bid for opportunities on both construction schemes.
East Renfrewshire Council has appointed Heron Bros as the principal contractor for the two prestigious contacts which include the £18 million new Faith Schools’ Joint Campus and a £7 million extension and refurbishment works at Crookfur Primary School.
The new faith schools campus will serve both the Catholic and Jewish faiths on one site, which will replace existing Jewish school, Calderwood Lodge, and create an additional primary school for the Catholic community.
The refurbishment to Crookfur Primary School and new nursery will provide quality education space for existing and new primary and nursery students in the local community.
Each project will require extensive indoor and outdoor work, and Heron Bros is keen to meet SMEs specialising in various trades at the event. Specialist trades of interest to Heron Bros include, but are not limited to, painting, bricklaying, cladding, plastering, joinery, metalwork, partitions, and external windows and doors.
Stephanie Lawrie, client relationship manager at Constructionline, said: “We’re keen to make sure local subcontractors have all the information they need on these two high profile educational projects before submitting their tender information to Heron Bros.
The free event will run from 8 until 10.30am.
