Police are hunting for a man who assaulted a 51-year-old woman walking her dog in broad daylight.

The dog walker was in Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock on Saturday, January 27 at around 2.30pm when a man approached her and pushed her over.

A struggle took place before he ran off towards a wooded area of the park.

The suspect is white, 5ft9, of medium build and thought to be 26-34 years old. He has short shaven, greying hair and was wearing grey jogging bottoms, an olive green top and carrying a light grey rucksack at the time.

Detective Craig Faskin, of Giffnock Police Station, said: “This was a frightening attack on a woman who was only out to walk her dog in the park. We know that previous to the assault the man was standing next to the big rocks using a mobile phone. There would have been a number of people in the park at that time and we would ask you to think back. Do you remember seeing anyone matching the description?”

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, using incident number 2303 of Saturday 27 January 2018. Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
