THE Glasgow Film Festival comes to a close this weekend — but not without a bang.

The Frightfest strand runs Friday and Saturday, ensuring horror buffs are catered to with the arrival of acclaimed director Ti West.

The man behind nostalgia-tinted spookfests The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers is appearing at the fest on Thursday — in conversation with critic Alan Jones — ahead of the UK premiere of his latest offering, The Sacrament, on Friday.

Away from all that scary stuff, and the fest rounds off with the UK premiere of Mary Queen of Scots — a fresh take on the historical figure courtesy of Swiss director Thomas Imbach, as well as closing gala film Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson and set here in Glasgow.
