Dance teacher Allison Simpson is thrilled to be acting in a country music comedy drama starring Julie Walters – in which she plays herself.

Allison and her dancers were invited to take part in two scenes for the movie County Music – one with some dancers from her school, Glasgow Line Dancing, and another in a busy bar scene.

“We all had an absolute ball” Allison said.

“There was quite a bit of hanging around at times but all my dancers had fun socialising and practising. I actually had two lines to say so I am confident you will at least hear me even if you don’t see me.”

“Everyone involved in the film was so impressed by the line dancing. I was so proud of all my dancers.”

This is not the first time Allison has been on the big screen.

She has competed for Scotland many times in long distance races, and she was placed 7th at the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002 in the 10,000metres.
