MOTORISTS speeding through Eaglesham have been warned to slow down.
Strathclyde police have received reports of excessive speeding near the village, and East Renfrewshire cops are now paying particular attention to the area.
Inspector Campbell Crawford, of Giffnock police station, confirmed that one driver had been reported to the procurator fiscal this week after allegedly travelling at over 52 miles per hour in a 30mph zone.
He explained: “Speeding usually incurs a ticket, a fine and three points on your licence but if it is excessive then we will report you to the procurator fiscal.
“We’re putting extra attention on Eaglesham, and speed checks will continue”.
