Police are appealing for help in their hunt for a thug who attacked a 51 year-old woman in Rouken Glen Park on Saturday last (January 27).

The victim was out walking her dog in the park at around 2.30pm when a man approached, pushed her over and struggled with her before making off towards nearby woods.

The attack happened at the bottom of a grassy hill, not far from big rocks in the park.

The suspect is white, 5ft 9ins, medium build and aged 26 to 34, and had short, shaved greying hair.

He was wearing grey jogging bottoms, an olive green top and was carrying a light grey rucksack.

Detective Craig Faskin at Giffnock Police Office, said: “This was a frightening attack on a woman who was only out to walk her dog in the park.

“We know that previous to the assault the man was standing next to the big rocks using a mobile phone.

“There would have been a number of people in the park at that time and we would ask you to think back, do you remember seeing anyone matching the description?”

Anyone with information should contact Giffnock Police Office via 101, quoting incident number 2303 of Saturday January 27 2018.
