Police at Cathcart are continuing enquiries following an incident in which two men were deliberately struck by a car in the southside in the early hours of Sunday. July 31.
Around 1am two men aged 19 and 53 were struck by a small white car in Cathcart Road, near to Somerville Road, when it deliberately reversed into them.
The two men were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where the 19-year-old was treated for minor injuries before being released. The 53-year-old is currently being treated for leg and head injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
Detective Sergeant Martin Smith at Cathcart CID said: “Enquiries are at an early stage and we are currently viewing CCTV to try and establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.
“The car involved is a small white 3 door, with a dark roof and dark alloy wheels. It was last seen travelling north on Cathcart Road.
“At the time of the incident the area would have been busy and I urge anyone who witnessed this incident to contact Cathcart CID immediately on 101.”
