Detective Constable Kris Elliott, Govan Police Office, said: “Deliberately setting fire to a car is dangerous and reckless and it is lucky that nobody was injured.

“We have been checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries to try to trace the person responsible but are now appealing to anyone who may know anything about this incident to get in touch with us.

“Think back, do you remember seeing or hearing anything in the early hours of Friday morning in the Glenspean Street area? Or do you have personal home CCTV or dash-cam footage that might be able to help us?

“We urge you to get in touch.”
