A MAN has been jailed for life for the murder of Barrhead woman Lynne Farquhar.
Muazim Shah (34) beat his victim (47) to death at her home on Rockmount Avenue on September 26, 2010.
Shah appeared at the high court in Edinburgh today (Tuesday), following a retrial at the high court in Glasgow this month.
He was convicted of the murder at the high court in Glasgow in 2011, but the conviction was later quashed by the appeal court on the grounds that the trial judge had misdirected the jury.
Nicky Patrick, procurator fiscal for homocides in the west of Scotland, said: “Muazim Shah brutally murdered Lynne Farquhar in her own home in Barrhead in a row about drugs.
“His conviction demonstrates the crown’s commitment to ensuring that those who are guilty of murder and other serious offences do not escape justice.”
