Crime conference

EAST Renfrewshire is to host a national conference on the subject of crime prevention.

The event, Crime Prevention – At a Local Level, takes place on February 24 at Carmichael Hall in Giffnock.

Organised by the East Ren crime prevention panel, it will include speakers from the Strathclyde police violence reduction unit and the Scottish crime and drug enforcement agency.

Jon Bannister, senior lecturer in urban studies at Glasgow university, will also address the conference, as well as an undisclosed senior political figure from Holyrood, speaking on the subject of collaboration in deterring and solving crime.

Tickets for the event are £25, with a discounted price of £10 for third sector workers.
