Attempted murder investigation launched after man stabbed in Barrhead

Detectives are investigating the attempted murder of a man in the Barrhead area.

Around 9.40pm on Friday, October 2, police were called to a report of a man being injured during an altercation in Roebank Drive.

Emergency services attended and a 34 year old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment to stab wounds.

Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

Detective Constable Emma Nicholson from Govan CID said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and it is vital we speak to anyone who was in the area last night and saw what happened.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 3898 of Friday 2 October 2020. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously.”
