Appeal following robbery in Busby

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery in Busby on Tuesday, 12 January, 2021.

At around 6.20pm, two men entered the Village News store in Main Street, Busby, threatened the shopkeeper with a weapon and demanded money from him. The shopkeeper was not injured in the incident but he has been left badly shaken.

Following the crime, both men ran off heading towards Busby Parish Church.

Both men were wearing dark coloured clothing and had their faces covered. They were also wearing gloves.

Officers are checking for any relevant CCTV footage which could assist the investigation.

Constable Jacqueline Carmichael said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us with any information. Any small piece of information could assist us in our enquiries.

“In particular, I would ask motorists with dash cam to check their footage as it may have captured images which could aid us in identifying the men responsible.”
