Compost will be given away to residents who visit the Barrhead Houseshold Waste and Recycling Centre next weekend.
The giveaway, during International Compost Awareness Week, is to recognise the recycling efforts of East Ren residents. A spokeswoman said: “It will givepeople a chance to benefit from the compost that is made from what they put into their brown bins.”
Stephen Ward, waste strategy officer, said: “We are giving away ten tonnes of the material produced from recycled garden and food waste at our composting plant on a first come first served basis.”
Bags will be provided and bring proof of residency. Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10 from noon-4pm.
