Glasgow City Council has passed a budget which will protects community organisations from cuts.
The Council’s Integrated Grant Fund with a budget of £28 million per year, funds over 450 ongoing projects across the City, and issues an average of 750 Area Partnership Grants per year to help with the costs of local community activities and services.
Cllr Soryia Siddique, executive member for citizens and communities, said: “I am delighted that the integrated grant fund 2017/2018 will not be cut.
“The Integrated Grant Fund makes a very real difference to citizens and communities across this city on a daily basis whether it is to:
• a pensioners group which offers company for the isolated or
• disability services and advice where citizens face everyday challenges just to make ends meet or
• provide support to victims of domestic abuse or
• assist families with drug or alcohol use issues
“Empowering Communities has been a priority.”
