FUN and fundraising were the aims of the day at McDonald’s Thornliebank last weekend.

The southside branch held a charity fete in aid of the Ronald McDonald house at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Yorkhill.

Staff, customers, family and friends didn’t let the rain get in the way of a good time, turning out for stalls and activities, as well as a visit from the Pollok fire brigade.

Over £500 was raised on the day, and staff thanked all who helped in making it a success.

The branch has a goal of £4,000 to raise for Ronald McDonald house – which provides accommodation for the families of sick children – this year, and are almost at the halfway mark already.

Next up is a 10 mile sponsored walk later this month, along with a charity fundraiser night on July 26 – tickets for which are on sale in the restaurant.
