Long-awaited CCTV coverage is expected to go live in Govanhill by February 5.
As reported in The Extra, Glasgow City Council agreed to install 24 hour coverage in the area in a bid to combat crime.
But following a delay, residents contacted councillor Soryia Siddique to push for a date.
She told The Extra: “I have now been advised that BT Openreach have completed the required works.
“Community Safety Glasgow can now proceed to the final stage of the project, which involves engineers fitting and connecting the cameras to our operations centre. If signal testing goes well it is expected that all cameras will go live by Feb 5.”
