CLARKSTON community council has called on the local authority for temporary restrictions during a consultation on parking.

East Ren council’s draft review of parking for Clarkston and Busby inlcudes a no waiting notice for Aidan’s Brae.

Community council chair Eleanor Kellock told The Extra: “We are worried about the welfare of the people at Aidan’s Brae.

“If there was an accident, an ambulance would need access — but at the moment, there’s the problemof parked cars.

“We want to highlight it to the council and hope they can put temporary measures in place.”

An ERC spokeswoman replied that “it would be inappropriate to implement short-term measures, which may conflict with the outcome of the review and lengthen the process.”

The consultation runs until April 14.
