Help and support is available for those who may struggle due to the recent rollout of Universal Credit.
With around 12,000 people expected to migrate to the new benefit over the next months, Glasgow City Council is rolling out a £2 million financial and digital inclusion package to try to mitigate the impact on individuals, families and communities.
Councillor Soryia Siddique said: “There are many concerns regarding Unviersal Credit; it has been described as not being fit for purpose.
“Govanhill Housing Association, and Gorbals and Govanhill Library have been funded to improve the finacial and digital inclusion for Universal Credit roll out.
“Govanhill communities can access a range of services, such as money and debt management, skills training and employment.”
Local Universal Credit Hubs can be found at Govanhill Library, Pollok Library, and Pollokshaws Library.
