Shell Recharge launches in the Southside

Next month will see Shell open Shell Recharge '“ the on-forecourt Electric Vehicle (EV) rapid charging service '“ at Shell St Andrews Cross, on the Pollokshaws Road.

The new service has the following features:

• Rapid 50kW DC chargers, which are compatible with most EVs and provide a zero to 80per cent charge in around 30 minutes.

• Accepts a range of payment methods, including contactless, payment via the Smoov mobile payment system, or NewMotion customers can also use their NewMotion card.

Shell Recharge customers will also only pay for the power they use, as there are no subscription or connection fees.

Jane Lindsay-Green, Shell UK Retail Future Fuels manager said: “We are delighted to launch Shell Recharge to our customers in Scotland. The service provides Electric Vehicle drivers with a convenient way to charge their cars on-the-go; and they can also pick up a snack and use the free Wi-Fi while they wait.”

As part of its commitment to making journeys better, Shell launched Shell Recharge in October 2017 and has started a second wave of the roll out this autumn, bringing the service to a further 30 sites over the coming months.
