New jobs created as The Works opens in Newton Mearns

The retailer has seen rapid growth in recent years and their new 1388 sq ft store is due to open on Thursday, April 11, generating eight new jobs in the process.

Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Works to our retail mixThe Works offers good quality gifts, stationery, art and craft materials, books, hobbies and toys.”

The Works’ CEO Kevin Keaney added: “Our stores have been affectionately called ‘Aladdin’s caves’ by our customers with gifts for everyone.

“We are delighted to be able to bring our unique offer to Newton Mearns, generating new jobs for the area ,and we look forward to being part of the local community in the years to come”.
