A new luxury care home will open its doors to the people of East Renfrewshire in the New Year.
Newton House, in Newton Mearns, will provide the highest quality personalised care to local people and create more than 120 jobs.
The home will be run by luxury care home operator Hamberley Care Homes.
The 113-bed home, previously owned and operated by Thistle Healthcare and known as Greenlaw Grove, will undergo a refurbishment before opening its doors to the public.
Helen Hendrie, new home manager, said that the new look home would offer the highest quality care to local people.
She said: “We look forward to becoming a valuable member of the local community and providing truly personalised care for our residents.
“This will be a home where people can come to create new memories with their friends, families and loved ones.”
Hamberley Care Homes operates an innovative relationship focused model of personalised care based around universal workers called ‘Homemakers’ rather than traditional care workers.
Helen added: “Instead of having traditional care workers everyone on the care team will be a ‘Homemaker’.
“We’ll all provide care, we’ll all keep things clean and tidy and we’ll all offer companionship and take an interest in the lives of our residents.
“Removing a sense of hierarchy amongst the team means it’s simply everyone’s job to ensure our residents lead a meaningful and quality life every day.”
Homemakers not only provide the highest quality of care, but they focus on the tiny details that make each day special for every resident - from always keeping things clean and tidy, to offering support with hobbies and interests.
Amongst many well-appointed features, the home, on North Greenlaw Way, includes a cinema, a bar area, a hair and beauty salon with a nail bar, and has luxurious lounges and places to sit and have a cup of tea and a chat throughout.
