Businesses beckoned for food festival

EAST Renfrewshire is one foot further onto the foodie map as the council launches a food and drink directory.

A promotional campaign for the September food festival — FEASTREN — it’s the area’s first food and drink directory, and local businesses are invited to submit their listings free of charge.

Events and economic development convener councillor Tony Buchanan explained: “We would like all of our food and drink businesses to feature in the FEASTREN food and drink directory.

“This will be at no cost to the businesses themselves.

“We would also like to run a promotion in every food and drink business across East Renfrewshire for the duration of the festival and drive footfall into our local businesses, creating a positive economic impact as a result of the festival itself”.

Now in its fourth year, FEASTREN takes place September 1-16 with culinary events planned for across the southside.

Companies interested in being involved can attend one of two meetings on July 9, at Eastwood House, or July 11, at Snooks Steakhouse in Barrhead — both 7.30-8.30pm.

Anyone wishing to attend can RSVP to, or 577 3048.
