The cream of East Renfrewshire’s business crop celebrated wins at the Chamber of Commerce Business Awards last week.
Some 150 guests attended the ceremony — hosted by Karen Dunbar — at Dalmeny Park Hotel, with winners announced from eight shortlisted categories.
John Hamilton, president of East Ren Chamber, said: “I congratulate everyone who entered — not just finalists and winners. The chamber is proud to be associated with such outstanding companies.
“These awards recognise the range and quality of businesses that we are fortunate to have here in East Ren.”
The excellence in customer service award, sponsored by The Avenue, went to A.C. Whyte & Co, while Glasgow News picked up most promising new business, an award sponsored by Asda.
Barrhead Travel took family business of the year, sponsored by Gleniffer Estates, and George Leslie accepted the Barrhead Housing Association-sponsored green award.
Social enterprise of the year, sponsored by Taylor Wimpey, was given to ReUseIt Furniture.
Finally, outstanding performance awards went to Morrow Associates Ltd (less than five employees, sponsored by A Place to Work), Tailor Maid Home Care (less than 25 employees, sponsored by Business Gateway) and Barrhead Travel (more than 25 employees, sponsored by West College Scotland).
Audrey Cumberford, West College Scotland principal, gave her congratulations to the winners, adding: “College staff were involved in the judging process, so I know how high the standard was. I wish our winners all the best for the future.”
