Barrhead residents could be in with a chance of winning £50 in high street vouchers by completing a housing survey.

East Renfrewshire council has contacted nearly 800 residents and waiting list applicants in upper Auchenback, asking them what they think of the area.

The confidential survey focuses on the views of people living there, what they like best and where they think the council could make improvements.

Surveys have been sent to home in Newton Avenue, Divernia Way, Fenwick Drive, Hawthorn Drive, Oakbank Drive and Cedar Place, and the closing date is Friday, June 20.

Each includes a freepost envelope, and those returned will be entered into the prize draw.

Convener for housing, councillor Danny Devlin, said: “We really want to hear what people want to see done to improve their communities and we’re here to listen.

“That’s why we’ve put out this survey and I’d encourage everyone who’s received one to return it to us by the 20th.

“There are lot of people on the waiting list for this area – finding out what people want in their communities then working to deliver those priorities will help these families find homes in their desired part of Barrhead.”
